FAQ
Q. Is it £10 p.+p. per print or per order?
A.I'm afraid it's per print, but if the sizes permit, we will send out the multiple purchases in one package and refund the saved p.+p. contribution.
Q. How do you post the art?
A. It's either rigid flat packed or flat in a box, dependant upon size. It is sent out either on 24 or 48 hour delivery via Royal Mail or Parcel Force. Receipt is signed for. We will telephone with your delivery date.
Q. Will you send it to my office if I ask?
A. Yes.
Q. How quickly will you dispatch my order?
A. It can be a week if we're quiet or a fortnight if we are away at an Art Fair.
Q. Supposing the image is not what I was hoping for. What do I do?
A. This has never happened, but our policy is that you should repack it carefully and post it back to us by the same method, within 10 days. Please also send a brief separate letter saying that you would like a refund of the purchase price.
Art is a very personal thing and we want you to be happy.
Q. Isn't it risky buying from a website?
A. I think we've all been caught out by disreputable or inefficient websites and that is why we've been reluctant to embrace this 21st Century market place. However, we have been persuaded that there is demand for a website, to allow easy browsing.
Q. I've never heard of you. Why?
A. We don't market ourselves with a loud voice. We're very low-key and traditional and it has worked for us. We would be surprised if you had heard of us.
Q. How do you pronounce your Gallery's name, Boteler?
A. Say 'Bow' (as in bow-tie), 'te' 'le' (both as in French), but don't worry about it!
Q. Why do you sell all your prints mounted but not framed?
A. Most art collectors have a very definite taste in frames and so it's best to leave it to you to personalise the image in a way suitable for its hanging position. All our artists understand this and so a specific frame is not part of their artistic vision for the image.
Q. Data Protection Act - What do you do with our name, address and telephone number?
A. We do not keep any of your details on a computer, just in our traditional Gallery Sales Record Book. We would never, ever give/sell/swap your information. We value our privacy with a passion, so assume you value yours. Sometimes it pays to be old fashioned.
Q. How do I know I won't see the image for sale in Homebase as a £20 photocopy?
A. We know how important it is to protect the integrity of a limited edition run, so buy the original and the copyright from the artist. The artists only sign the prints that we have produced and put before them in person. We put the originals into storage.
Q. Can I talk to a real person?
A. Of course, please telephone us on (01722) 323652 and speak to Susie or Bea. If you're coming to Salisbury do let us know and then come and see us in our office in Fisherton Mill.
